We have good news! As planned, De Avond van de Filmmuziek in the Ziggo Dome will take place on Friday the 9th of October 2020 in a corona-proof setting! The concert is completely sold out, so the visitors are divided over four shows. The world-famous Metropole Orchestra, conducted by the German conductor Jochen Neuffer, will play the most beautiful film music from composers such as Hans Zimmer, Ennio Morricone, Alan Silvestri and John Williams on the 9th, 10th and two shows on the 11th of October 2020. The shows on the 9th & 10th of October 2020 are sold out, but there is still a limited number of tickets for sale for the matinee show on the 11th of October 2020. These shows will take place entirely in accordance with the guidelines of the RIVM and the national government. More information about this can be found here.
The presentation is again in the hands of double bass player and Maestro jury member Dominic Seldis. Dominic will receive different guests in these four shows, including Ellen ten Damme, Ruben Hein, Tania Kross and Hermine Deurloo. "It will be an unforgettable evening for everyone," says Dominic. "It is unique that we can give such a grand show for the first time. Of course, there will be a special monument to the Italian composer Ennio Morricone, who passed away last summer. On this evening, we pay a dazzling homage to his iconic and many award-winning film scores."
De Avond van de Filmmuziek has been a guest in the Amsterdam Royal Concertgebouw for five years. Last year the event became too big and therefore moved to a sold-out Ziggo Dome. The registration of the 2019 show of De Avond van de Filmmuziek can be seen in the Pathé theaters from the 17th of October 2020.
