Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band by the Analogues and guests on June 1 at the Ziggo Dome.
On June 1, it’s exactly 50 years ago that the legendary album Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band of The Beatles was released; one of the most important and influential albums of all times. To celebrate this special moment, this evening the Ziggo Dome will be copletely dedicated to Sgt. Pepper and The Beatles, with a performance of the album by The Analogues and musical guests who’ll interpret their Beatles favorites.
The Beatles never peformed this album live; the complex arrangements and experimantal studio techniques didn’t lend themselves to this at that time. The Dutch band The Analogues, consisting of Bart van Poppel (bass, keys), Diederik Nomden (keyboard, guitar), Jac Bico (guitar), Jan van der Meij (guitar) en Fred Gehring (drums) now do. With help of the original instruments, vintage equipment, wind instruments and strings, they’ll perform the Beatles repertoire identically to the recordings.
